How To Re-grout Your Tiles

How To Re-grout Your Tiles

Every time you go to have a shower, do you see mouldy, cracked grout staring back at you? It is such a simple job re-grouting tiles, but it is also one of the most procrastinated jobs. Here is a simple method to get your bathroom or kitchen tiles looking all brand new again.

Use a grout saw to remove the old grout. But preparation is important. Use masking tape to cover the tiles so that you do not get any scratches on the tiles.

Use a vacuum to get rid of all of the loose dust, and ensure that there are no loose bits in the joints. Was the wall with a simple water and white vinegar solution to ensure that there is a good finish.

Get a grout compound from your hardware store. Follow the manufacturers instructions, and mix it until it feels like it is a smooth toothpaste. Smooth the grout into the joints, ensuring an even smooth distribution. Once the grout has dried after 30 minutes use a wet sponge too remove any excess grout. Apply a sealer over the grout once it is dry to ensure a long lasting, and durable finish.
